Squirrels
The Portland area is home to many different kinds of squirrel, but the four main types that we typically run into are: the Western Gray Squirrel, the Eastern Gray Squirrel, Douglas' Squirrel, and the Red Squirrel.  Squirrels, like all rodents, have pairs of upper and lower incisors that continually grow and must be maintained by the act of gnawing.  A favorite choice for the attic residing rodent is to chew on electrical wires, causing lights to go out, electrical shorts, and sometimes fires.

Depending on the species, females can give birth to one or up to eight young somewhere between February and June.  Gestation periods differ between species, and range from roughly 30 to 45 days.  It's not uncommon for a mother to have a second litter later on in the year.  The juveniles typically reach sexual maturity by the next spring.

Squirrels can be regular visitors to your property in search of food, maybe living in a nearby tree, or maybe they've made a nest in your attic.  Regardless, we provide trapping and removal, as well as eviction services to make sure they leave you and your property alone.
